Stength and Conditioning
On a daily basis, students participate in a one-hour group fitness session designed and implemented by our Director of Strength and Conditioning. Group fitness sessions include work on speed, power, balance, movement, body strength, core strength, pre-habs (injury prevention), energy system conditioning, and flexibility. Strength and Conditioning sessions are designed for every student-athlete to reach maximum potential. Our Director of Strength and Conditioning fosters clear and open communication with each student-athlete not only to examine results, but also to ensure safety and prevent injury.
Prior to every tennis session, student-athletes are led through a 15 minute dynamic warm-up to accomplish the following: increase core body temperature, joint mobility, neuromuscular stabilization (balance), reaction time, and activate proper muscle firing patterns. The intense dynamic warm-up is necessary to engage the body in proper warm-up mode and to enhance a more effective tennis session.
In addition to working with players off the court, our Director of Strength and Conditioning teams up with John Evert, as well as all of the coaching staff, to work with the players on the court. Through this on-court team effort approach, student-athletes are able to develop their strength and conditioning skills in a manner that is consistent with their overall tennis training.

Mental toughness, or the ability to compete giving one's best effort under any circumstance, is a skill that can be learned, improved upon, and at times mastered through specific and systematic training.
Top competitors recognize that their best performances occur when they are in a specific physiological and psychological state often described with words like confidence, positive energy, peace of mind, determination, awareness, and focus. This specific state is the most efficient and effective way to lead individuals to the achievement of their goals, therefore, we relate to it as the High-Performance Route.
Clearly, the ability to enter and remain on the High-Performance Route even in the most challenging situations is what separates the best competitors from the rest. It takes specific work to become a great performer, someone capable of delivering his/her best effort under any circumstance. Years of experience have demonstrated that the ultimate performer is a fully grown, fully developed human being. Through guided exercises, athletes explore their deepest values and beliefs and understand that their success depends from their effort to strengthen their character in the competitive, social and moral areas. Repurposing the competitive career of an individual as a vehicle to strengthen his/her character is at the core of the program. This field tested and science based training regimen includes systematic sessions dedicated to intensifying players’ motivation, developing the best attitude and mental toughness to get the most out of their energy and time in training and competition, and increase character strength.
Exercises are mostly done by hand writing on paper and they are followed up by training specific behaviors and thoughts while training and competing.
The results will be noticed in higher productivity, better performances under stress and enhanced well-being both in participants’ career and in life.

If so, then we may have the perfect choice for you!
1. Live Video Evaluation: ($350)
It will be done during a 30-minute lesson with your developmental coach or your coach of preference. The video will cover your forehand, backhand, serve and volleys. Your personal coach will also give you 3 to 5 corrections or exercises that you need work on. This live video evaluation is the most popular because you will take home all the tips you learned during your time spent at the Evert Tennis Academy in an electronic format.
2. Match Play Video: ($175)
A player's true strength and weaknesses only become evident during match play. Research show that players do not always do what they think they are doing in competition and that coaches are not always correct in their post-match assessment as to why a match is won or lost. The match will be filmed from two different angles of the court - one elevated and one from behind the player - so you can see what you need to work on and improve.
3. Match Analytics: ($425)
A match will be filmed and charted while analyzing key performance indicators. These highlights are uploaded to a private online collection which will allow players and coaches to look for important moments during the match. All the information will help to objectively determine what needs to be improved. Each match includes a Match Report with all statistics and key performance indicators. This report can be used to easily identify the important match-defining areas that need to be analyzed. It will also include the Online Search Parameters below: Winners/Errors Return + 1% and Placement Score Serve + 1% and Placement Aces/Double fault & more!
4. College Recruitment Video: ($425 for Full Time Players and $475 for Short Time Players)
It is for collegiate coaches who require an understanding of a potential student’s tactical, physical and technical abilities. All strokes are filmed from various angles on-court. A handful of fitness tests are recorded to show the player’s physical abilities. A match play video from two angles is also included - one elevated and one from behind the player. You will receive three videos – a short version consolidated video and one video for each of the two angles.
5. Dartfish Technical Analysis: ($350 - only available during Summer Camp)
Dartfish allows an athlete to see a key positions analysis of your serve, forehand, backhand and volleys with highlighted techniques and movements using a blend of drawing and measurement tools. You will also get a side-by-side analysis with a tennis professional like Roger Federer with specific visual and auditory comments on each stroke from an Evert coach.
